Cr Geraldine Conheady was first elected to Corangamite Shire Council in July 2020 (by-election) and re-elected in November 2020.

Geraldine raised her seven children with husband Edward in Noorat, four of whom now work in the family dairy business. She cares about how Corangamite develops and the legacy we leave for our young people and families, our prime food/fibre production zones and the agricultural industries that have sustained the Shire for generations.

What do you believe some of the challenges will be for this Council?
Our immediate challenge is to assist our community to move forward as we deal with the damaging experiences of COVID-19. Rejuvenating our hospitality and tourism sectors is a pressing issue.

What do you hope to achieve as a Councillor?
I believe improving infrastructure is a key component to continued prosperity and to encourage population attraction and retention - safe roads, effective transport links, high standard connectivity. I will be advocating actively to achieve this.

If there is one thing (or project) you want to see happen in your time as Councillor, what would it be?
I hope to see Corangamite Shire positioned for appropriate growth, to be recognised as a premium municipality for opportunity, where families want to live and business wants to invest.
